Within it's flatteringly named Planet Golf section; American GOLF DIGEST Magazine in April 2012 released its latest rankings of the Top 100 golf courses in the world outside the USA.
As with the last time this list was produced, there are countless anomalies and surprises from the near the top right down to the very bottom. Among those to have been generously ranked are the likes of Cape Kidnappers at 6, Hirono at 8 and the National Golf Club of Canada at 17. Each appears ahead of Ballybunion Old (25) and Royal St George’s (32), which will surprise fans of those quality links. The other surprise, is the big jump the West Course at Royal Melbourne made, up from the mid 20s in 2009 to number 2 this time on the back of a successful President’s Cup.
