Originally designed as an inland links close to the Vaal River, Maccauvlei today has more of a parkland look to it, with plentiful mature trees. The course was upgraded by Peter Matkovich at the end of the ’90s, with the emphasis on giving a more rugged look to the bunkering. Two holes, 15 (pictured) and 16, run alongside the river. Club boasts historic old clubhouse. It hosted four SA Opens in years gone by.
