Arnold Palmer

The Arnold Palmer Design Company has designed and built hundreds of golf courses around the world, including several prominent tournament venues, but few of any genuine quality and note. Like all major signature design firms, the quality of the work varies according to who actually designs the golf holes – there are several design associates here who basically try to produce results consistent with a particular style and genre of golf.

Arnold Palmer courses aren’t bad, but they lack creativity and strategic interest and despite the likes of The K Club, Tralee, Laurel Valley and Old Tabby Links having their fans, the reality is that none of the Palmer work appears on any reputable World Top 100 ranking list and it is hard to see much change in the future.
