Situated on 240 hectares, Lovedale Farm is a new golf and residential development in New South Wales's picturesque Hunter Valley – which is Australia's most-visited wine region. The development is located across Wine Country Drive from The Vintage Golf Resort, and has been planned as a rural haven for both residents and golfers alike. More than half of the site is dedicated to green space and recreation (including golf) to maintain the rustic character of the property.
The golf course itself is scheduled to begin construction in 2027, and should be playable in some form by the end of 2028. It will be built by Victorian based company Programmed Turnpoint, whose previous work in NSW under its current management structure includes Shortland Waters and the Beachside 9-hole course at Mollymook Golf Club.
In terms of the golf layout at Lovedale Farm, the routing arranges the holes along the lower section of the site with some areas bordered by Black Creek. Most of the residential housing is planned to be built above the holes, and set well back from the golf corridors. Outlooks include across golf fairways, and out toward the attractive rolling topography of the region.
Supervision and oversight during the construction of the holes will be the responsibility of Programmed Turnpoint General Manager Justin Trott. Trott also played a part in the design of the course, along with various consultants engaged by developer Capital Corporation.
Once completed, the hope is for Lovedale Farm to stand alongside The Vintage and Cypress Lakes as the Hunter Valley's main golf attractions.
