Pambula Merimbula Golf Club

Australia, NSW, NSW South Coast
5.1 (33)
Designer: club members
Course Opened: 1966

After two previously unsuccessful attempts to start a golf club in the township of Merimbula a public meeting was called in August 1965 resulting in the formation of the Pambula-Merimbula Country Golf Club. The name would later to be changed to Pambula Merimbula Golf Club.

An application to the Crown Lands Department a lease was granted to the club of 52 acres on which to build a clubhouse and golf course.

A small timber clubhouse and nine hole sand greens course was completed by volunteer labour the following year with the first competition held on 15th May.

From these humble beginnings the club developed into a 27 hole course with a large modern clubhouse which has attracted many discerning golfers to the Far South Coast and is currently listed in the Top 100 Public Access Courses in Australia.
