Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club

Australia, Victoria, Melbourne
5.4 (82)
Course Opened: 2000

Greg Norman and Bob Harrison’s first Victorian design effort was the Sanctuary Lakes course at Point Cook, built on a flat, unattractive flood-prone site west of Melbourne. A tribute to their ability to shape an entire golf experience from a blank canvas, the most pleasing aspect of this design is that aside from the water holes, the key moments and undulations appear totally natural. The par five’s in particular are a highlight especially the first two, which are both great driving tests and feature superbly contoured greens. The long closing hole is an extremely searching finish to the round as it winds around the main lake and over a creek toward an island green.
