Tocumwal Golf Club - Captains Course

Australia, Murray River
5.7 (37)
Designer: club members
Course Opened: 1992

The Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club had its origins back in the 1920s, when founding members golfed on 9-hole sand green course on the site of the current Tocumwal racecourse. Relocations and expansions followed, until the 1970s when the then 18-hole course was converted to grass greens and fairways. That course was significantly modified in the 1980s, and then split in the 1990s when a second 18 was added and the Presidents and Captains courses created.

Both courses at Tocumwal are quite flat, but well laid out and challenging with their smooth couch fairways and bentgrass greens. There are more generous playing corridors here than elsewhere on the Murray River, and for golf courses effectively built and designed in-house the quality is reasonably good.

With some of the most affordable green fees in the area, and both year round sunshine and well kept fairways and greens, the Tocumwal Golf Club has plenty of fans.
