In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that.
“This difficult club course is Bob Cupp’s most highly-regarded design, though we don’t agree with the Canadian magazines who have it in the country’s top ten. The front nine is laid out through woods and features some dramatic elevation changesm while much of the back side is in an open meadow, hemmed in by pretty fine fescue roughs. The par-5 15th offers an optional carry to the left that cuts 50 yards off the hole, though I don’t understand the merit of rewarding length with length.”
The Beacon Hall Golf Club received scores of 6 out of 10 and 5 out of 10 from two of Tom Doak’s co-authors.
