Borre Golf Club

Norway, Oslo
Designer:
Course Opened: 1990

Borre Golf Club was founded in 1990, at the same time as Borre Golf Course opened. The club is one of Horten's largest sports clubs and has had varying numbers of members over the years. In the beginning, there were many out-of-town members. Gradually, as many more golf courses have come, we have become slightly fewer from outside the city, but in return it has become more of a local club. More and more people in the local area are discovering how wonderful it is to play golf.

In addition to the joy of playing golf on a great 18-hole golf course in beautiful surroundings, the heart of the club is what we call "the grounds". Here is the clubhouse, pub, golf shop and club office. Close to the yard are also the practice areas and tees on holes 1 and 10 and the greens on holes 9 and 18.

We welcome everyone to come to the yard, for a cup of coffee and an ice cream, or other refreshment. You are free to try your hand at the training areas. Talk to those in the inn and the shop.

Some seem easy at first and some seem difficult, but when you feel the first sweetspot hit on the range and the ball flies further than you could imagine, or rolls in the first 10 meter putt, something can happen. You can get hooked. It is not dangerous, on the contrary. Golf is fun and good exercise, even if it doesn't take place with running shoes and a heart rate monitor. A full round means almost a mile walk.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary, Borre was awarded the Norwegian Championship 2015. In 2016, 2017 and 2019, we organized the Borre Open at the Nordic League, Norway's largest professional tournament. In 2016, we organized Team NM 1st div where Borre came away with the victory in the women's class
