St Medan Golf Club

Scotland, West Coast, Dumfries
Designer:
Course Opened: 1905

St Medan is Scotland’s most southerly golf course on the rugged Galloway coast.

This family-friendly, 9 hole course, laid out on the shores of Luce Bay in south west Scotland, offers an interesting and challenging game for novices and experienced golfers alike.

A special feature of St Medan is that there are 18 tees playing to 9 holes, making optimum use of the hilly peninsula with it’s wonderful scenery and panoramic sea views.

Amongst the many other attractions of the area, non-golfers in your party / family can enjoy the sandy beaches on either side of the golf course, explore the cliff-top walks or visit the nearby picturesque harbour villages of Port William and Isle of Whithorn.

4th Hole – “The Well Hole” is our signature hole. This is a challenging ‘short ‘ hole, with danger right and left, and that is on a calm day!

7th Hole – “The Lagg” is played as a dog leg – so, for your second shot, do you play boldly up and over the “Lagg” or do you “lag” up?

“Hame” is the 18th and if you can avoid the bunkers and have a hole in one, you will be assured of a warm welcome in the clubhouse.
