Located in Honeydew North Western Johannesburg, in view of the 350 million year old Magaliesberg mountains, home to over 100 species of birds, on the threshold of the Cradle of Humankind and its game viewing cycle routes, in the heart of Mzilikazi’s old kingdom, gateway for trekkers and hunters of old, the crocodile ramble and its host of leisure activities from art to brew-houses, yet surrounded by world class schools, a hospital, shopping centres, office and light industrial work parks and every possible amenity including the Dome- home of international singing acts and exhibitions-on the doorstep of the next expansion phase of the Gautrain, Eagle Canyon Golf Estate is a green oasis of secure and joyful freedom and tranquillity, a daily and week-end retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday Johannesburg City Life.

Once a disused quarry, then a multi-billion rand residential and golf development with mixed use housing from entry level apartments to multi-million rand mansions, Eagle Canyon has transformed into a jewel in the crown of South Africa’s most successful suburban living environments, and, given its breadth of functionality, can rightly claim to be one of the leading urban living concepts of its kind in the world. It is a place where open spaces outweigh developed areas, where moms and dads can take evening strolls, have a round of golf with the teens or go for a run, newly- weds can take romantic strolls across rolling green landscapes, children can ride their bikes or walk to a friend’s house and revel in Halloween “trick and treating”, whilst dad can even take the boys fly- fishing at one of the countless lakes and dams on the estate. No wonder that Eagle Canyon has consistently performed as a top 10 South African suburban investment destination for the last 10 years. It is a place where luxury and entry level student cars live comfortably side by side.

Wending its way through the estate-At first “Out” then “Home”- and central to the lebensraum, run the Canyon and Dales of the EAGLE CANYON GOLF LINKS, a distinctive and unique Links Golf experience amongst the parkland courses of north western Johannesburg. Historically coastal, Links courses are typically more open, have fewer trees, follow the natural contours and slopes of the land, and incorporate the natural grasses, reeds and water of the environment. Fairways & greens tend to be a little harder, undulating, and exhibit more roll whilst the fairways are a little narrower with more naturally grassed rough and blind shots a common feature. Whilst Links courses tend to play shorter as is the case in Scotland or Ireland, they require sound course management and shot making for maximum enjoyment.
