Signature hole: There are three special holes thatconstitute the course's "Amen Corner" from the 14th to16th, where water hazards come into play. The first one isa par 5 with water guarding the green, followed by a par 3across water, and a par 4 where a dam must be carried toreach the fairway.

Golf Digest South Africa says -

The Mount Edgecombe estate is one of the most popular places to live in and around Durban, and there are 36 holes of golf. Pride of place goes to the older No 1 course, which was upgraded at the time of the estate development 20 years ago. It boasts one of the best clubhouse facilities in the country. The parkland course is both attractive and an excellent test, having hosted numerous tournaments, both amateur and professional, most recently the 2011 SA Strokeplay won by home club member Jared Harvey.
