Chenal Country Club - Founders Course

USA, Arkansas
4.3 (3)
Course Opened: 1990

From the club website:

From their very inception, the golf courses at Chenal were destined to be ranked among the most prestigious in the nation. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., both the Founders Course and the Bear Den Mountain Course are imaginatively conceived, dramatically beautiful and extraordinarily challenging. Mr. Jones, creator of more than 125 of the world’s best courses, including Monterey and Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA, preserved the integrity of the rolling, wooded terrain of western Little Rock while developing two majestic courses.

Chenal Country Club opened the Founders Course in 1990 and the Bear Den Course in 2003. Each course presents a daunting array of shot-making requirements, but can be played by beginning and intermediate golfers as well. The multiple tees allow each course to play at yardages for all levels of play. The Zoysia fairways offer an exceptional lie and the Bentgrass greens present the highest putting surface available.

With it’s tight, tree-lined fairways, crystal clear creeks and protected wildlife areas, the 7,326-yard Bear Den Course incorporates the natural features of the site, distinguishing it from the more open qualities of the original Founders Course. At 7,115 yards, nestled along many of the original neighborhoods in Chenal Valley, Founders has been ranked as “America’s top 100 Modern Golf Courses” by Golfweek magazine, and “#1 in Arkansas” by Golf Digest.
