In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that:

“It’s scary to think a course this good doesn’t always make lists of Philadelphia’s top 10. (It would be there with room to spare on my own list.) Like most of its neighbors, it lies in a valley with some steep holes along the top edges and a creek in play on several holes along the bottom. The five par-3 holes offer great variety, from the strong uphill 199-yard 6^th to the 117-yard 8^th guarded by its own small quarry. Hopefully they’ve taken steps to remove some of the more recently planted trees, which were starting to detract from the giant sycamores that are the nucleus of the landscape plan.”

The Manufacturers Golf and Country Golf Club received a score of 7 out of 10 from Tom Doak.
