In Volume 3 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses, Tom Doak published that.
“As ambitious as the guy with his name on it, the new public course at the foot of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge was funded by the New York City Parks Department through years of delays and cost overruns. The result is challenging and well manicured and undeniably a big course, and the short game options around the greens are some of the best of any Nicklaus course I've seen. However it doesn't play like a links, because the many angled greens and bunkers on the approaches make it hard for lower-trajectory golfers to bounce the ball in. Too much of the shaping is wasted in between the holes, and not enough spills over into the fairways themselves."
Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point received a score of 6 out of 10 from Tom Doak, and a 5 from one of his co-authors.
