Hoiana Shores Golf Club

Vietnam, Danang
7 (1)
Course Opened: 2019

Hoiana Shores Golf Club opened for preview play in September 2019. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones II, as part of a 985-hectare, US$4 billion Hoiana complex that is regarded as the most ambitious resort development ever undertaken in Vietnam.

When complete the Hoiana resort will include more than 1,000 rooms, suites and villas (managed by Rosewood Hotel Group), 4 kilometers of pristine beach, a suite of beachside pools and restaurants, a stand-alone beach club, an entertainment facility managed by Suncity Group, and a wide array of retail partners.

The golf course is a manufactured links-style course that, unusually for Vietnam, includes more than just a brief glimpse of the water. Here the 15th green through 18th tee are all directly adjacent the beach, with waste bunkers shaped into the natural sandy areas.

While the greens at Hoiana Shores are grassed with Tif-Eagle Bermuda, all the fairways and tees feature the Zeon Zoysia, a relatively new, drought-tolerant turfgrass strain specially developed to provide firm, fast conditions in equatorial regions like this one. The project itself is located a short drive from the UNESCO World-Heritage listed town of Hoi An.

We look forward to producing a full course review for Planet Golf soon.
