Media Release:

Food delivery services like UberEats, Foodora and Deliveroo have the residential and office-worker market all tied up, and Fetched on the Fairway has golf.

The Fetched App offers food, beverages and golf gear delivered to golfers on course via GPS and has landed a hole in one with an industry in need.

The only app of its kind, Fetched helps clubs succeed by enhancing their service, boosting revenue and reducing labour costs by replacing traditional beverage cart operations.

Fetched Co-Founder and golfer Chris Coppin said Fetched offers ‘something extra’ to golfers during their round:

“As a golfer who enjoys a couple of beverages on the course, it seemed the drinks cart was nowhere to be found when I wanted it.

“Golf isn’t a short game, at an average of 5 hours for 18 holes, you get hungry. Packed sandwiches really don’t do it for me and lining up at the Halfway House disrupts pace of play. Fetched solves all these problems.”

Tailored to each club, Fetched offers everything a golfer could need on the course – coffees, balls, tees, and even on-demand coaching – delivered direct or pre-ordered for pickup.

The game of golf has been in the rough for the best part of this decade with declining participation, course closures and over half of Australian clubs reporting financial duress.

Clubs and industry bodies acknowledge the need to modernise and change the elitist culture of golf to attract new and younger players to the game.

Co-Founder Colin McEown said they expected introducing a mobile app to a game that once prohibited phones on the course to be a challenge, but the response among clubs and players has been positive:

“The Brisbane Golf Club welcomed the opportunity to offer a new technology to their members and the pilot phase has been a success. We are rolling out Fetched across Australia this month and we’re gearing up to go international.”
