Media Release:

The PGA of Australia today announced that Challenger, Australia's leading retirement income provider, has signed a landmark five-year extension as Title Partner of the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia.

The agreement represents the largest commercial partnership in the Tour's history and extends Challenger's commitment through to the end of the 2030/31 season.

The announcement coincides with the launch of this season’s Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia schedule, which will deliver another summer of unmissable golf across all Australian mainland states, New Zealand’s North and South Island and Papua New Guinea.

The 2026/27 Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia season will feature 19 tournaments, providing a world-class competitive platform for the region’s leading professionals and emerging stars.

Since becoming Title Partner in 2023, Challenger’s investment has played a key role in strengthening the Tour, supporting enhanced tournament delivery, creating greater opportunities for players and elevating the experience for fans, partners and host venues.

All Australian and New Zealand tournaments are now broadcast on Foxtel and Kayo, with the BMW Australian PGA Championship and Capital.com Australian Open - – both co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour – also broadcast on Nine and 9Now, giving golf fans direct access to homegrown professional golf almost every weekend from October to April.

PGA of Australia Chief Executive Officer Gavin Kirkman said the new agreement, announced today at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney which will host this year’s BMW Australian PGA Championship, was a major endorsement of the Tour’s direction and future.

“This five-year extension is a landmark moment for the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia,” Kirkman said.

“To secure the largest commercial partnership in our Tour's history demonstrates the confidence Challenger has in our vision, our players and the future of professional golf events across this region.

“Since joining us as Title Partner in 2023, Challenger has played a major role in helping us build momentum, strengthen our tournaments, create more opportunities for players to compete and progress their careers and produce awesome event experiences for our golf fans.

“This long-term commitment allows us to continue investing in our Tour, our events and the next generation of golfers chasing their dreams on the world stage.”

Challenger Chief Executive Officer Nick Hamilton said the extension reflected the organisation’s belief in the future of Australian golf and the strength of the partnership.

"At Challenger, we're in the business of providing Australians with long-term financial confidence. This partnership is about playing the long game, investing in the future of Australian golf, creating more opportunities for players and inspiring more people to get behind the game,” Mr Hamilton said.

“We are incredibly excited to extend our commitment to the PGA Tour of Australasia for another five years because we believe in the long-term importance of golf in the region, and the very bright future of the Tour.

“As the most played sport by Australian adults, golf is a great way to for us to connect with Australians through a shared passion enjoyed by millions throughout their lives.

“This partnership is aligned to our purpose of helping Australians enjoy financial security in retirement, so the time is spent worrying about driving off the tee- leaving us to be their partner providing retirement income,” Mr Hamilton said.

The Tour begins with the PNG Open at Royal Port Moresby Golf Club on August 27-30 before travelling to Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland across October and November.

The summer of golf will then feature the two flagship Australian events – the BMW Australian PGA Championship at The Lakes in Sydney (November 26-29) and the Capital.com Australian Open at Kingston Heath in Melbourne (December 3-6).

The second half of the season will be highlighted by the final four events of world-first Players Series co-sanctioned with the WPGA Tour of Australasia, as well as a three-event New Zealand swing that features the ISPS HANDA Japan-Australasia Championship at Royal Auckland & Grange Golf Club (February 18-21) and the New Zealand Open presented by Millbrook Resort (February 25-28).
